There is no limit to the number of submissions. Each entry submission (sample) should be identified and labelled independently with the unit charge of U$D 250 per tea (submission).​

Any company, producer, or supplier is eligible to enter the competition provided there is an identifiable traceability to the sample submissions by the contenders without allowing for duplicated entries (or cross submissions of same product) which will lead to disqualification of the teas.​

A fee of U$D 250 is applicable for each individual tea entry.​

Yes, contestant teas will be accepted from ALL producing origins provided they represent commercial volumes.​

A volume of (minimum) 200 grams by weight should be submitted with each tea (sample) entry.​

A “Breakfast” tea will NOT be accepted. Breakfast teas and similar collections (Afternoon teas, Evening teas) are generally considered and permitted to be a blend of different origins and standards/grades.​

No, you cannot send flavoured teas. Only teas that are completely FREE of flavours, scents, or infusions will be accepted as a contestant.​

Hojicha is a post processed tea and Kukicha is a sub product of a process and they do not qualify to the categories in the competition. ​

No, smoking of tea is a sub process or a post process and is not allowed for submissions.

There will be a minimum three to four judges selected by World Tea Expo, and the teas will be adjudicated by its independent merits of leaf style, make, cup character, liquor, appearance, and over-all finish. ​

Judging takes place live at World Tea Expo 2024 in Las Vegas, on March 17 & 18 2024.

The last date of receiving samples is 31 January 2024. The final date in receiving applications is 15 December 2023. Please provide the consignment tracking information as soon as the samples are shipped.

Winners will be announced onsite at World Tea Expo after the keynote presentation, Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 8:30am.

Yes, you are welcome to be present at the live competition, provided you strictly remain only as an “observer” and in the visitor’s seating space.
