Note on World Tea from Questex

We wanted to clarify the future of World Tea Expo (WTE) and World Tea News (WTN), given some of the commentary circulating across the industry.

Firstly, Questex believes very much in the tea community. Over the years, we’ve built a vibrant and dedicated event and content platform with our partners. We recognize the importance of having an annual gathering that brings together tea enthusiasts and provides an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, services and products that supports the growth of the many tea businesses who exhibit and attend WTE.

When Questex acquired World Tea Expo in 2020, we made the decision to co-locate WTE with the Bar & Restaurant Expo (BRE). The goal was and remains to elevate and integrate tea more fully into the programming and show floor to provide a more unified hospitality experience for on-premise tea, bar and restaurant operators.

With the 2027 BRE show floor categorized into a pavilion model, WTE will retain a dedicated section within the food and beverage pavilion. We have received overwhelming feedback from both exhibitors and attendees that a more integrated and organized model will allow them to find and connect with the right suppliers and exhibitors.

This strategy extends to World Tea News, which will become part of our highly engaged hospitality media portfolio over the coming months.

BRE serves the independent on-premise operator, and as this segment evolves, we are seeing more establishments (including café and tea shops) express interest in broader beverage options. This integration responds to the feedback from over 200k on-premise operators across cafes, tea shops, bars, restaurants, airline lounges and cruise as well as evolving consumption trends.

The strength of the tea industry will continue to enhance the overall BRE and hospitality experience and we are excited for the 2027 plans.

We look forward to sharing more of this with you in the coming months and appreciate your continued support of WTE and the community we’ve all built together.

Thank you,
The Questex and World Tea team
