Martin stepped down as Chairman of the Board in 1999, to take up the more executive position of Managing Director of Rooibos Ltd, the market leader and preferred supplier of Rooibos internationally. Martin was elected as the first Chairman of the South African Rooibos Council, whose main function is to oversee product research, as well as the generic marketing of Rooibos and industry related matters.
