Teng is at the forefront of preserving the 2000-year tea making artisanship, and opening access in the West to the highest level of Chinese teas. Her relentless in-the-field pursuit combined with studies of the ecological, agricultural and biochemical aspects of tea has made a remarkable contribution in the continuing research of the subject.
