Focused Tasting: Want to learn why some foods make your favorite tea taste even more delicious, and other foods make it taste like so much hot water? Come to this focused tasting and discover the science of tea-food combinations: why some are disastrous and others divine, and why people may differ as to which is which. We'll complement our discussion with tastings that bring out the experience behind the science, and give you the tools to develop your own delectable tea-food pairings.

Learning Objectives

• Learn the science behind your flavor experience: how flavors come together and influence each other in your nose, mouth, and brain;
• Understand why and how some foods enhance the flavors of tea and some cancel out tea's flavors;
• Experience the application of your knowledge to pairing and savoring teas and foods together, so you can develop your own food-tea pairings.
