Teas from 46 leading suppliers entered the inaugural World Tea Championship, held at the 2008 World Tea Expo.
The Championship was divided into two classes: Hot and Iced Tea. The Hot Tea Class consisted of 22 separate categories and three super categories reflecting the most popular tea types, blends and herbals. The Iced Tea Class was categorized by three primary market applications and sales channels: ready-to-drink, foodservice and freestyle.
