WORLD TEA EXPO OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Doors open to hundreds of exhibitors, thousands of attendees

Las Vegas, NV – March 27, 2006 – The World Tea Expo, the premier marketplace for the tea industry and the largest tea trade event in the Western World, will open its doors today at the Las Vegas Hilton. The Expo has always served as a catalyst for the fast growing tea industry and this year, the Expo’s impressive growth is an indicator that the market for tea is stronger than ever.

Over the next three days, the World Tea Expo expects to shatter all previous exhibitor and attendee records. Over 200 exhibitors representing 30 countries, and over 3,000 attendees will be on hand. As always, the Expo will also be an epicenter for the booming market. Evidence of the industry’s growth and of the Expo’s significance in the tea market can be found in the variety and magnitude of new buyers this year. Among the hundreds of buyers in attendance are heavy hitters such as Whole Foods Markets, Nestle Beverage, Cadbury Schweppes Beverages, Amazon.com, Trader Joe’s, Wegman’s, United Natural foods, Sara Lee, Cost Plus, Jamba Juice, and Hyatt Hotels.

Kicking off at 9:00 am with the always-popular Iced Tea Shake Off competition, this year’s Expo will be loaded with entertaining and educational programming. Highlights include the nation’s first ever Tea Auction, the “Chado Chef” Cooking with Tea Demonstrations featuring top chefs like Rick Moonen and Kerry Simon, authentic Chinese and Japanese tea ceremonies, keynote speaker Peter van Stolk, founder, CEO, and president of Jones Soda Co, and a series of educational seminars. Today also marks the release of the industry’s essential business publication, the Specialty Tea Is “Hot” Report™, excerpts of which will be given to attendees at the Expo.
