WORLD TEA EXPO EXPANDS TEA AWARENESS WITH THE LAUNCH OF WORLD TEA NEWS

Las Vegas, NV—In an effort to continually broaden the awareness of premium tea, the World Tea Expo has launched World Tea News, an innovative e-newsletter that provides free, up-to-the-minute information and news on the ever-growing world of tea. “The mission of World Tea News is to deliver clear, concise updates on trends, breaking news and product releases,” says George Jage, president of the World Tea Expo. “Buyers have limited time and they need brief but focused information to best understand this increasingly popular and powerful beverage category.”

The mission of World Tea News dovetails perfectly with that of the World Tea Expo: to expand the marketplace for tea. “The World Tea Expo has always worked hard to gather tea news and information, so it was a natural move to provide this value-added service to the industry,” says Jage. “This is in line with our broader mission to expand the overall market for tea rather than simply provide exposure for a single business.”

With nearly 2,000 subscribers, World Tea News is e-mailed every two weeks to tea professionals and decision-makers. “World Tea News is very informative,” says Kevin O’Brien, director of specialty/ethnic merchandise for A&P U.S. “It keeps us up to date on trends and topics—including new items—in this very hot category.”

In addition to uncovering the latest industry news, World Tea News provides updates on the World Tea Expo, the largest tea trade show in North America. Readers receive helpful information and deadlines regarding the expo, as well as a complete schedule of other upcoming trade events. Now in its fourth year, the 2006 World Tea Expo will take place March 27–29 at the Las Vegas Hilton and will feature a wide array of exhibits and in-depth seminars. Tea professionals from around the world will gather to view and learn about the latest products, trends and topics in the industry. In addition to seminars and exhibits, attendees will participate in daily tea tastings, and the expo will feature a motivational keynote address and a fiercely competitive iced tea shake-off held in partnership with the Tea Association of the USA.
