Anupa Mueller has a thriving wholesale and retail tea business in New York. Schooled in Darjeeling, India, she learned early about tea. Anupa started her wholesale company, Eco-Prima 12 years ago with just her family’s tea, Makaibari Darjeeling, but soon expanded to importing teas from all over the world. Anupa was one of the first to market Organic and Fair Trade teas in the US and now carries a full line of varietals and flavored teas as well as tea accessories. She brings a passion and enthusiasm to all aspects of tea. Eight years ago, she opened Silver Tips Tea Room in Tarrytown, New York. Here, Anupa enjoys the one-on-one contact with individual customers and advances the cause of tea through tea tastings, flyers, newsletters and, of course, daily interactions with consumers.
