Gert ter Voorde
Chief Operating Officer, Sun Garden Tea Inc.
       
  Gert is a Dutch National, who has been working in the international tea industry since 1984. Initially working as a trader for Van Rees in Rotterdam, for whom he trained in many of the major tea producing countries and managed their Malawi office for two years. Before joining Sun Garden Tea in 2007, Gert worked for 17 years for Premier Foods a major food producer of branded and supermarket brands in the UK. The company’s main tea brand was Ty.phoo (3rd Tea brand in the UK) and it was largest supplier of supermarket brands in tea. Gert was running the Tea department at Premier Foods and was responsible for interacting with the company’s customers on their product lines. It is this background of working for a producer of brands and private labels teas, which gives him the insight to speak on the topic.
